Tero Repo

Profession: Photographer
Born: 1978
Camera: Canon
Lense: Canon, (sigma)
Strobe: Canon, Quantum, Elinchrom
Hobby: Fishing, Beachvolley, Darts

I first got to know Tero in 1998 through a text he wrote for
Finnish snowboard Magazine, Slammer. It was an article
about Verbier, his home resort, and it was full of spelling
errors and other mistakes, big and small. I had "the plea-
sure" of proof reading it, and I can
assure you it was not an easy task!
I really did not expect much from the
guy who wrote the mentioned piece
of crap...

However, Tero’s pictures already
back then were very nice. And since
they’ve only got better. So much so,
that nowadays I think Tero is one
of the very best ski and snowboard
photographers out there. His is a true
master at what he does... I especially
enjoy his freeride shots, they are full
of the same power and grace as the
riders with whom he shoots. Tero is
also very good at capturing pictures
of landscapes, some of his sunset
shots are best I’ve seen.

Despite the bad start, Tero actually is
a very good writer nowadays, too.
This does not mean that he’d impro-
ved the slightest bit when it comes
down to making spelling errors and other mistakes, they are still
there, it simply means that his stories are super fun reading. He’s
got that very rare skill of making stories come alive, he truly is a na-
tural storyteller! Tero’s stories, both written and spoken, simply crack
me up at least every third sentence, but he also knows how to
be serious.

Tero is a great friend. He’s fun loving, easy going and trust
worthy, very easy to be with. When it comes down to ma
king something happen, he’s full on, as Mr. Repo is a super
hard worker.

”Beer. Nice photos. Nice light. Beer. Tero is a good guy to
hang out with. He is fun and easy person. Beer. Not always
work. He has a very good eye for ski picture but not compli-
cated. Beer.”
-Sverre Lilieqvist, professional skier

”He is a professional photographer, who likes to work hard.
Between the photoshoots he likes to hang out with friends
and have a beer or two. He just got back from New York
wearing this ghetto track suite costume, that he bought in
Brooklyn. That’s typical Tero.”
-Joonas Karhumaa, professional telemark skier
